Our Children's Faith Formation Library is located downstairs in our school building, next to the CFF Office. We have some wonderful Catholic books, CDs, and DVDs that anyone can borrow for up to 2 weeks! We have many resources about the Saints, the Mass, Sacraments, Mary, Bible Stories and more! The CFF Library is open on Sundays during scheduled CFF classes, 9:15am - 12:30pm, or call our office during the week to schedule a time to check things out. Please contact the CFF Office for more information. Ruth Gilly, CRE (812)379-9353 ext. 1242
NOTE: Most of our CFF resources are for children, but did you know we also have a library with materials for Adults in the Parish Hall? Click here /echo-lending-library for more information about our lending library for Adults.
This choir’s Mission is to teach parish children the language of music and artistic expression within the context of the Catholic Christian community of faith. Direction of this choir is under our parish Music Ministry. Please click here /music for the Music Ministry page and scroll down to the bottom for information about the Children's Choir.
Young Catholic boys and girls serve at the altar during Sunday Mass, weddings, and funerals. This is a ministry of service offered to and for God. Please click here /liturgical-ministries to go to the Liturgical Ministry page and select "Servers" from the side menu for more information.
Children who participate in our CFF Programs have many opportunities for Christian Service. Some of our service opportunities include hosting a student from Haiti each year, non-perishable food drives for Love Chapel, collecting money for the Missions, collecting baby items for Clarity and/or Gabriel project, hosting a hands-on Stations of the Cross during Lent, helping cut the palms in preparation for Ash Wednesday, making Rosaries to donate, assisting at Liturgies and more.
Family prayer time is so important, especially in these busy times! Once or twice a year, CFF hosts a gathering for families to come and make a Family Prayer Box together. This small prayer box is a nice way to keep some prayer supplies together so you can easily set up a Sacred Spot in your home each day for prayer. The boxes typically include a small prayer cloth, Holy Water, assorted mini-statues, Rosary, prayer cards, candle and other items you might find useful. The purpose of this activity is to encourge families to take time out of their busy day to pray together for a few minutes. Examples of how to use the Prayer Box are shared and discussed at the gathering, and we try to have one of our priests or deacons come to bless the boxes once they are complete. A free-will offering is collected to help cover the cost of supplies. Dates and times of this event are published a few weeks ahead of time in the Parish Bulletin and CFF Newsletter.
Each December 24th at the 4:00pm Mass, children from our parish help with our Christmas Eve Children's Mass by being Greeters, Lectors, Gift Bearers, and by acting out the Gospel Reading. All children in grades 2-8 are invited to participate and all families are invited to attend! Sign-ups for roles begin in November through the CFF Office and are published through the CFF Newsletter, SBCS Newsletter and the Parish Bulletin.
Each November, Children's Faith Formation joins with Adult Faith Formation to host an Advent Wreath Making Party for people of all ages. Supplies and snacks are provided for a suggested donation of $10 (to help cover the cost of supplies). Sign-ups begin in early November through the Parish Bulletin.
