Sponsored by the Peace & Justice Ministry and the Knights of Columbus, the next Blood Drive will be held Saturday October 10, 8:00AM—12:30PM in the school cafeteria. It is conducted by Versiti, a non-profit company which provides blood for Columbus Regional Health.
Blood donations are especially critical as this time. Since mid-March, 4,000 blood drives were cancelled and 130,000 donations were not made. Versiti follows all CDC guidelines for safety. Donors get a free mini-physical and a Covid-19 antibody test. Best of all, donating a pint of blood burns 650 calories!
Over 75% of Americans will need blood in their lifetime, each unit donated can help up to three people. If only 1% more Americans donated blood, it would eliminate the shortage. Please plan to give the “gift of life” on Oct. 10. It’s one way we can help fight the impact of Covid-19.
