MISSION
OUR GOAL AS THE YOUTH MINISTRY OF ST. BARTHOLOMEW PARISH IS TO ENCOURAGE GROWTH AND RESPONSIBLE PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMUNITY. THROUGH EXAMPLE AND COMMUNICATION, THE JUNIOR AND SENIOR HIGH YOUTH EXPERIENCE FAITH, FUN, FELLOWSHIP, EDUCATION AND SERVICE.

The Program
Jr. High and High School programs are designed to better meet the needs of youth who are at various levels of faith formation. It is a diverse and flexible program that promotes growth in faith and challenges each young person to become actively involved in parish life. It is a program that offers each person an opportunity to learn about his/her faith and experience his/her faith through service, prayer, and sharing it with others.

Jr. High Program

The program is designed to accommodate the variety of scheduling needs of each young person grades 7-8 and their families. The guidelines provide a comprehensive approach to growing in faith and prepare them for the High School religious education program.
Each young person must complete at least one six week course in each of the following: Prayer (P), Christian Living(CL), and Catholicism(C) each year. In addition, each youth will participate in at least two Service Days each year.
Class sizes will be limited to 12 youth so that sharing, reflection, prayer and group discussion can be accomplished. Pre registration for classes is required.

High School Program
The program is designed to accommodate the variety of scheduling needs of each young person grades 9-12 and their families. The guidelines provide a comprehensive approach to growing in faith.
In preparation for enrollment into the Confirmation program, each young person must complete at least one six week course in Prayer (P), Christian Living(CL), Catholicism(C), and Bible(B). In addition, each youth will participate in one retreat and two Service days throughout the course of their freshmen and sophomore year.
Class sizes will be limited to 12 youth so that sharing, reflection, prayer and group discussion can be done. Pre registration for classes is required.

Confirmation

Any high school student wishing to be Confirmed must be enrolled in the High School religious education program and complete the requirements for the high school program. Upon completion of those guidelines, any student can enroll in the Confirmation program. The Confirmation program is a 6 month program including catechesis, two retreats and 25 hours of community service. The focus of the Confirmation program is to assist the youth in growing in their relationship with God and learning to live out the message of the gospel through service to their church, themselves and their community.
Please Check with the Youth Office for Schedules.

Stained Glass

Stained Glass is a music ministry group that provides music for liturgical celebrations on an average of once every two weeks.  Stained Glass is open to any Junior High or High School student.  We released our first cd, entitled, The Color of God, in the summer of 2004.  Our motto follows the inspiration of St. Augustine, "Those who sing, pray twice." We believe that we are all unique colors of God.  Individually, we are nothing until we come together and let God's light radiate through us.  Together it is our goal that our music will allow other's an opportunity for prayer and time to grow closer to God.  Our prayer as you listen to us, is that God reaches out and touches you with all the joy, peace, comfort and love that he so abundantly gives.
